IVF children statistically speaking have higher ceilings than Natural Conception, as the highest grades eggs are used for implantation.
The issue lies in egg quality for IVF. Most IVF is used on older women with declining egg quality or PCOS, so this skews the data. Furthermore, with ICIS, its primarily used for men with sub fertility - So low sperm count, Bad morphology or motility. In other words, unhealthy sperm. Both of these cases can then lead to higher risk factor - Autism or spech/language or developmental issues.
However, if IVF is used with healthy sperm and a healthy egg, and the highest grade egg fertilises and attaches to the uterus, then the chances of that child being healthier, stronger and more intelligent is much greater.
There is only a 0.3 average IQ difference between NC, Ivf and IVF-ICSI, which again, is due to quality of the egg or sperm.
