But self reported surveys show men that are married tend to be happier, healthier, and have a higher quality of life that their never married or divorced counterparts.
Similarly medical studies have shown that happily married men tend to live longer and have higher quality lives as they age.
It should be noted that getting divorced can really fuck up your life as a man, especially if kids are involved. Your future prospects go down significantly as the state legally binds you and your labor to a wife and child who are estranged from you.
That being said, if you think you can get married and stay married and you feel that you’ve found a woman who understands and accepts that expectation, then marriage can be quite beneficial. But the number of men and women who enter the contract with the belief and conviction to get together before 30 and stay together until death is dwindling over time.
Perhaps now it would be better to delay marriage until 40 when people actually grow up and realize they aren’t going to live forever. Of course this is a real problem for maintaining birthrates.
You could always wait till late 30s or early 40s as a man and marry a woman in her 20s to solve this, but again there will be very few young women who take the commitment seriously by then. Because say you are 30 now and wait 10 years to 2033. Most available women in their 20s will have been born between 2005 and 2013. Which means nearly their entire world view was shaped by post 2014 public education.
At that point you are probably better off simply going abroad to find a wife and then bringing her back to America to raise children. The advantage is you could do this right away, and there are many women abroad who would jump at the opportunity and were raised in less pozzed cultures.
