The music is only popular because it's literally the same as American music, and even then it's only a minority of the music scene here - Japanese music is way more popular. If people like JY Park stopped pumping their money into publicity then all of the Korean groups would disappear from popularity within a few days. Notice how nobody talks about NiziU anymore? (I know they're Japanese but they're another JYP group) It's manufactured popularity.
