Children don't come as an inconvenience, they come as an entire restructure of daily life and your personal responsibility. Having children isn't just a thing that happens, its a part of maturing and leaving behind the egotism of childhood for the kinship links of age. You'll stop fearing death like a young man does. You'll start thinking of the consequences of your actions for others. You'll stop being "you", you'll start being "you, father of". I saw how my cousin changed after having a son. It's not something that you simply "control" or "choose". It's a restructure of life, no longer around yourself. It's a blessing, a strange blessing. I'd never see him happy that way. Happy for others. Happy for his girlfriend turned wife.
