>There is no excuse for Russian being more commonly spoken in public than Kazakh

>Anyways, Russians seem to be arguing with me about this whole language thing. This is clearly still the continuation of Russian colonialism in Kazakhstan, this country is called KAZAKHstan not RUSISTAN therefore the native language should be spoken in public, I suggested that the Russian language should be controlled in public in order to destroy this colonialism that still exists in 2023 somehow, Russians in KZ have no excuse to not learn Kazakh, a Russian told me "Well, the government doesn't offer Kazakh language classes." I don't know how it is in KZ but if you have a phone and an internet, you already have the resources to learn a new language, I have done this myself, I've learned a new language just through my phone so this arguement is not valid. Russians in KZ refuse to learn Kazakh because they have a superiority complex or some shit, they expect a Kazakh to know their language not for a Kazakh to expect them to know Kazakh in Kazakhstan.

>Then I mentioned that the reason this colonialism most likely still exists is because KZ is afraid of Russia, I mean these guys even called me a nazi so imagine what would happen if the government made efforts to popularize the Kazakh language? Invasion I bet, look what they are doing to Ukraine.

>Look at Africa and Latin America, there are so many peoples who had their native language erased because of colonialism, so much of the culture and history was lost because of that, and Kazakh probably came close to that, this colonialism is really strong and this language survived a huge genocide. Just look at this graph: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kazakh_famine_of_1930%E2%80%931933#/media/File%3AKazakhstan_demographics_1897-1970_en.png

>We should be glad this language survived.
