The Christian god Yahweh (YHWH) was originally a semitic/sumerian pagan God. He was known as the Storm God across many of the semitic Mesopotamian peoples. This is why he is often referred to as “in the sky and clouds” and can “split seas” and can cause floods, having many attributes common of other storm gods.

YHWH had a goddess wife named Asherah, and was part of the same Pantheon that also included Moloch and others. Yahweh was in fact worshipped along side the other gods. The Israelites would even sacrifice children to Yahweh by burning them alive. (This is where the concept of hellfire comes from). YHWH also was the SON of a Supreme god named “El”, Who was revered across the middle east and Anatolia.

Genesis 17:1 mentions El Shaddai, the mountain God. Other gods mentioned directly in the bible are El Betel and El Elyon. El roughly translates to “god” or “god of”. El was also the name of the highest and supreme God (YHWH’s father).

The Torah and the Tanakh use the word “Elohim” (אֱלֹהִים ) which is the plural of El, inferring the existence of multiple gods. This word is mysteriously translated to “judges” in the greek and english versions of the OT, which is completely wrong and a mistranslation of the original Hebrew. An attempt to cover up pagan influences.
