>>16968533Good for you. I was a neet on the dole in australia. It was pretty cool waking up early in the morning and listening to the people drive to work on a freezing morning and not having to go.
I used to think it was cool but after getting a job now I realize that people have been tricked into being grateful for scraps. The way I see is the government imports all these immigrants causing neets to not find a job. Yeah I could afford a car and as much electronics as I wanted but nowhere near enough for to own property which is the main form of wealth.
A cool thing to do is just to workout at the gym, you have plenty of time. I used to just like going on little trips during the day like wandering around the shopping centre.
The main disadvantage is that your accomodation is uncertain, I mean you landlord or your parents can one day just sudden tell you to pack your bags, I have been close a few times. It really does create anxiety.
Do you know what people used to do in the 80's. Boomers would work a few years and buy a house and maybe have a wife and kids. They would then go on welfare and because they didn't have to pay rent they could retire early.
I do find it interesting how people in other countries experience life as a neet. In my country a lot of people on the dole have addictions and poor spending habits that basically sap all their money so they live a lot worse than they could.
In my country welfare was 600 a fortnight or probably about 4 days worth of wages, slightly over half was used for accomodation expenses. When I got a job I was initially shocked at how fast the money in my bank was increasing. Having a job is better overall but I'm not going to hate you for not having one but I do actually like my job and most people don't.
