I lived next to a gun-nut lunatic who he and his wife had a total of 20 guns; 12 of them inside a safe, 6 stashed around the house, and the final two being pistols that he and his wife carried around everywhere. By everywhere, I mean literally EVERYWHERE. They'd wash their cars, clean their house, mow the lawn, get the mail, and have a drink outside while carrying their pistols in their waists or holsters all the time. I wouldn't even doubt it if someone told me they sleep with their guns a well.
Never understood why you need more than a gun or two anyway, we aren't in a warzone.
