U.S dollar is really strong so only echange when needed and some place are multi-currency that accept it. Do not go outside after dark if you do not know the area or neiborhood as people will recognize it if you do not speak the language well. Saying you are American is actually a bit of a benefit and defense as some people might choose not to fuck with you. Most importantly, use common sense. Enjoy the food and just do not go out at dark or around parks at night. Sun feels so nice. Just be opened minded too and try not to be so superior because you are American. Oh, yeah, many Northern Mexicans at least, opinions of my cousins do not like anything Honduras as there has been so many shitty immigrants like the equivalent of Peruvians coming to Argentina.
