>>17087063Midjourney (the computers, that last pic is just some car photo)
>>17087064That boomer lifestyle you're describing is impossible in the city I'm in mostly due to cost & space reasons.
I used to work as a mechanical engineer and helped fix power plants around the world but now I'm a game designer.
I always encourage my daughter to look up tutorials on youtube and help her out when she gets stuck. She taught herself drawing and recently started building 3d environments on her computer.
I'm also sending her to private math classes because education sucks here. The school here is basically a daycare.
She's 9 and they taught her recently about the Japanese internment camps with 0 context.
They never mentioned Pearl Harbor or how spies on the mainland were forwarding information to their government back home.
As long as kids are curious, and you encourage their curiosity and provide them with the tools needed to explore things they're interested in they should be fine I think.
I just don't understand when people say "my dad didn't teach me anything". Isn't learning stuff your interested in an innate desire?
Especially now with the internet. My dad taught me some basic MS Dos commands and that was mostly it regarding computers. But that was all I needed and I've learned everything else through trial and error.
