how could that give them any value at all if those sons are supposedly worthless?
this "1 man can impregnate 100 women" thing only works in their fantasy world because in reality, 95 of those women would starve, if the remaining man doesn't simply get his head bashed in and his harem stolen by a bigger group of men before the starvation kicks in.
you could see exactly what kind of offspring people prefer when they only get to have a single one in China until recently.
it's men who are the productive part of society, because they actively contribute. women are also important, because without them your men will die out after a single generation, it takes both for your civilization to continue into the future. but women's value is just enabling the continuation of that society, it's men who build it.
