The average house price in my area is over 300k and i make just over 40k a year. It would take me almost a decade of working and saving all my money just to buy some below average house that a couple years ago costed 50k. Whats even the point of working anymore /pol/?

Work harder, be more polite and put in the extra effort. If you do all of these your boss will most notice and you will get a raise. Alot of you young guys don’t really know how to work hard so if you actually do work hard you will stand out to your company and it will increase your value to your company. Ive been working at my current job so long i cant even be fired anymore because im the only one who knows how to do some of the more technical things so i can just laze around most of the day and watch you yougins work instead

Try 900,000 for a decent 3 bedrooms detached house in my city. Although I do see small homes going for 500,000 sometimes.

Do you not understand how mortgages work?
A lot of lenders only need you to pay 5% down, but most will say you need a minimum of 10% down.
You only need to save 30k, put that against your mortgage, and pay the rest monthly or bi-weekly.

Keep shopping around! There are lots of lenders out there who would be willing to take you and your property into their portfolio. You're lucky to be in America where there are all sorts of crazy schemes to get mortgages. Up here, we have big banks and a couple of smaller credit unions. I'm a poor idiot buying a shitty little shitbox and they gave me one with 5% down
