How would you measure love?

Is there such thing as true love?

Take for instance this picture.
That may has nothing left in his life, he is poor and homeless. However his dog is still with him regardless of his situation. The dog can leave and find a new owner that would feed it and care for it better, but it won't. It has an unbreakable bond with his master and would stay and fight for him even if it cost it's own life.

I think that's true love. What do you guys think?
