A wall built in this manner is sturdy, able to be insulated and it breathes without absorbing moisture like brick and mortar. It's easily heated and cooled internally without the framing behaving like a heat sink, unlike brick and mortar or stone. It's more easily repaired and expanded as well.
There's a lot of perceived value in living in something that could take a trebuchet hit, but it's a pain in the ass. I have foot-thick uninsulated exterior brick walls and two brick chimney stacks with three flues that pour the cold off of them as if out of a vessel. What's so good about your house?
