I ran and shooed him away. the bird wasn't flying away afterwards, so it was either paralyzed in fear or it was injured. I very gently touched its back to make sure, and it gave me a fright! it suddenly flew away...back onto the ground a couple of meters from where the cat was. I guarded the baby bird until it flew up into a very high tree with it's mom.
the cat used to greet me and meow at me whenever it saw me. now it doesn't even acknowledge my existence after that. oh well. at the very least I'm on good terms with those two birds. sometimes they hang around my yard whenever I'm out there. nice company.
