Why are they being pushed so much in the media, academia, big tech, and even government?

The first time I ever saw "furries" on screen was the film Rumble in the Bronx, and I thought the film was making fun of them (which it likely was). So I'm completed baffled by the existence of furries, but then again I'm not ugly.

I think there are aspects of furries that aren't all bad. They genuinely share and help others learn more about art for free than the fucking college I went to taught. OPs image was just a recent lecture presentation about furries, because they exist, they're everywhere, and honestly most of them are annoying at their worst. One of them in OPs image used to teach at that campus, which is why they got together.
