I used to make this odd quirk when I was learning English as you add "an" before a vowel. I never bothered looking into it or asking; Grammatically it looks correct, however when spoken it sounds unnatural. Just a few examples, "I have an urinary problem" "That is an universally accepted social custom" " The protoagonist is faced with an andversities in the story". The last example is one most certainly made by an early English language learners.
