on friday night i was watching a 3hr youtube video about how a major north american league of legends team (evil geniuses) forced their star rookie (danny) to play professionally for months when he wanted to quit when i felt an odd nonsexual sensation in my pants so i walked to the bathroom and felt between my cheeks and there was some blood, not a lot but like a light-spread-of-mayo-on-toast amount, it was wet which was a little freaky but i was diagnosed for nontrivial ibd ~10 years ago and you get used to the occasional blood from the ass, only difference here is i wasnt in the bathroom when in happened which never happened to be before which was somewhat concerning but i tried to see if it would go away so i put nicely folded toilet paper as a gentle caress along buttcheek valley and played a game for 20 minutes while listening to the video, as you can guess when i checked it did not get better, it got so much worse that the toilet paper was really damp when i tried to remove it and i continued to drip blood on the floor after i removed it, so after rushing some paper towel under my cheeks i rush to the emergency room, actively bleeding a lot is scary but i didnt feel woozy or anything, anyway we get there and the receptionist is not very welcoming but maybe that's good to keep people calm, she was very matter-of-fact, low inflectional variation, similar type of person as the slug lady from monsters inc except speaking at 1.1x normal humans' speed and without the scraggly voice, i explain im bleeding she asks me some questions to verify my identity like whats your phone number whats the last digits of your social security number, i dont know this stuff, anyway they eventually let me in and i find a seat, after a million years of watching other people get called before me when hello i'm actively bleeding here guys but probably the other people also have important issues as well but it's not apparent so it feels like "imeancmon" butafter amillionyrs lim

i get called, doc asks me some questions, i answer, after a couple minutes he's like "alright go ahead and sit back down, you'll get called to the back in a few hours" and in my mind of course i'm thinking how could this possibly be acceptable when i am still bleeding but i didnt say anything, i just said ok and sat back down, not long after i sat back down the doc walked over to me and whispers "you're bleeding through your pants, we'll get you back as soon as possible" and handed me a big pad to sit on, then i was thinking good i am now prioritized for my very serious active bleeding thank you, some other people get called but then i hear my name so i get up and walk over and the nurse said she'll be taking my blood and then i asked "oh so i'm not going back yet?" and she said "no" so they took 3 samples and then i sat back down which at the time i was pretty annoyed but thinking back i guess it's good to have blood tests done as soon as possible if a patient is actively internally bleeding, more people get called and after about an hour i finally get called back, the nurse hooks me up to all the machines, 15 minutes later the doctor arrives and i talk with him, he checks my butt and says yeah that is a lot of blood, 20 minutes after that he returns and offers me two options, the first which is his personal recommendation is to stay overnight and prep for a colonoscopy in the morning, the second is since i'm otherwise a perfectly healthy strong young man i could just go home, "if i go home wouldnt i still be bleeding?", he said yes and i forget how he elaborated afterwards but regardless i chose the first option because i am actively and i would like to stop bleeding, then the nurse comes back and prepares everything for the colonoscopy, i get a 4 liter jug of special juice and a "bedside commode" which is just a chair with a hole in the middle to shit and piss and a bin connected underneath to catch the shit and piss, charlim

you might already know what colonoscopy prep is like but basically because they need your intestines squeaky clean and free of obstructions for the scope you have to drink 4 liters of a horrible-tasting solution designed to induce frequent diarhhea, after the first or second time of feebly hobbling in and out of the hospital bed to and from the commode while connected to the jumble of wires i randomly thought "this would be a worthwhile blogpost to share with madokanon" and then it hit me: your latest thread before i was hospitalized was all about the army dealing with diarhhea. i softly laughed a bit to myself because i didnt want to freak out my family or the nurses, but i kept smiling for a good while afterwards, it was the perfect "coincidence." out of all the random things you could've chose to write about you chose diarhhea, idk if things like this are completely random chance, i've just experienced way too many coincidences at this level or greater to write it off as randomness but thats a whole nother topic, anyway another funny thing is after going through 70% of the diarhhea inductor the gastroenterologist called and said i should stop because he doesnt want to do a colonoscopy, he wants to do a ct scan instead, when the nurse told me i could stop drinking it i wasnt upset at all because it was just funny to me, to go through the entire diarhhea rigamarole almost for teh lulz, logically i knew it wasnt a waste because it was the intended plan and the plan just changed, it's like how if you want to evaluate decision-making you look at the information and context when you made your decision regardless of the decision's outcome, sure in one way it was a waste because in the end i didnt need to... i guess maybe it was a "waste" but it didnt feel wasteful, i know you know what i mean, and basically thats it, they never figured out what caused the bleeding but it got much better and all of the blood tests were fine so they let me go home and lim

i feel good now and i felt good even while i was bleeding too so i guess that corroborates the blood test results' normalcy, only felt bad during the whole diarhhea debacle but thats normal especially considering the amount of liquid lost
it was a crazy ride and it felt like it'd never end but now it's over

some things i wanted to write more about but omitted for whatever reason (some high level subtopics)
- ct scan experience (dangerous? laser, iodine injection, nature ceiling, robo instructions)
- "coincidence" (foreshadowing vs prediction, you getting "drawn" to read and post about diarhhea,)
- clock ticking (zero tech entertainment, no phone, nearly +12 sleepless hours past usual bedtime, never bored)
- waiting room (people who went ahead, someone recording me with phone?)
- interesting patients (crazy neighbor, nurses/doctors dealing with crazy neighbor, on a scale from 1-10 10painguy)
- nice nurses (excellent nurses, contrast other patients' nurses, selection bias bc nice nurses less noisy)
- all the machines (all the different machines hooked up to me)
