In schizophrenia there is the concept of negative thinking and positive. Essentially you can think you are a god and everything you see and hear and even feel enforces this under positive but under negative everything is bad, you are cursed, everyone hates you, you can't stand to hear or see or feel anything.

The many threads some people call demoralization are in fact an expression of this negative thinking. The people creating them are suffering a form of schizophrenia.
