many things will go wrong sometimes. you will fail sometimes. when you understand this AND can do it anyway, you may be able to keep momentum and do it again and again until you see success.
when someone seems to be receiving you well, initiate a way for staying in touch. or at least prompt him to initiate.
I know, i know, 4chan is such a great fantastic place that there's nowhere else you'd rather be... but you must start to think about what you want specifically. and then figuring out how to get there should come rather naturally.
I don't mean to trivialize anything. it's hard. even when you are doing everything right. I know. but it's not as complicated as it seems. And it's scary, but it's not as scary as it seems (nor as scary as the alternative)
