I'm gonna assume you're in your early 20s. Once you pass 18, you are no longer under your parents care. They can charge you as much rent as they want; they can kick you out if they want. This wasn't a secret to anybody. It's been the law for much longer you've been alive.
You are living in their house. You are on their property. Just because you're a crying little manchild, who doesn't think it's 'fair' that want a fully grown adult to pay rent for living in their house, after 18+ years, doesn't matter. Grow. Up.
