>>17354057I don't watch that much, but here's a point of view for you. Most of these vtubers are friendly, positive, and into some of the same stuff I'm into. And even when they're into things I don't like, like build a bear for example, I can still appreciate the nerdiness of the whole thing, and I'm just happy that she's happy. Being a female who is both nice and actually has interests is rare, so it's a nice combo. In the case of Pippa, she's also a fun "conspiracy theorist" and feels like she has some common sense, more than most women. She's also just willing to talk about interesting things and laugh about them, instead of just getting pissy and soap boxy. On top of all that, any time she is mad or mean there's a degree of separation. She's mad at chat, chat is being stupid, chat is a bunch of idiots. I'm not chat, I'm joe Schmoe, so it's funny that she's mad at this gaggle of random idiots. And then, personally, the biggest draw is I get to like her and watch and listen when I want too, and if I don't want to I can just leave. She's not gunna get mad, she's not going to get on my case. I'm free and clear. So yeah, just a lonely autist using them as a proxy for real human contact because real people are clingy and exhausting and I no longer have the energy to play the game. It's the same reason all my friends are online.
