I did this a few years ago after a mental breakdown, I often wonder how things would've turned out if I had stayed, I lost a lot of friends and it's difficult to make new ones when you know nobody

the tough part for me were the ~6 months or so right after I had made the decision to actually walk away, lots of uncertainty, stress and some sadness I suppose, eventually it got better, now I'm sort of stuck in the same situation as before but in a different place with different people, turns out you can't run away from yourself
