that said the current state of 5e and the things they're trying to change moving forward are terrible
but if you like a casual system with far less options and depth then it's fine to enjoy 5e imo, it's the equivalent of playing vanilla skyrim vs oblivion or morrowind, you know that there's a lot less to it but it's easy to get into
