I use invidious instead of youtube so It doesn't use a personalized recommendation algorithm. I don't like being spyed on.

I haven't used the actual youtube website in years. For a good year or two I watched no youtube videos at all (aside from links from school that I had to watch with youtube-dl + mpv) but then I found out about invidious and watch videos sometimes.

My music playlist is on youtube and I don't have it downloaded to every device I own so when I want to listen to it I use "mpv --shuffle --no-video <playlist url>" it's nifty
I would recommend youtube vanced if you have an android but it's dead
