I've always wanted to travel to russia, politics be damned. What are some nice places to travel to? Are the people friendly to english speaking (white) foreigners? What kind of places can i go and learn some real russian history and culture from?

ive never been to russia but my dad has, went to Moscow. russians are very friendly and nice unlike how presented in american media. i recommend you learning some basic russian phrases from YouTube, it's always nice to see that a foreigner who visited your country made the effort to become familiar with your language. sure there's racism in eastern europe like nowhere else, but that's simply maily because there aren't many people of color there except gypsies, but if you're white i doubt anyone would have anything against you. people living in cities will be very different from people living in small towns, villages, too. as for places to visit, my dad really wants to visit the transsiberian railway, from Moscow to Vladivostok that's 9000km long. Also the Baikal lake. In Russia there's also ice sculpture museums, i think those are interesting.
