Take ESG for example. The whole thing about climate change was due to some motherfuckers lobbying the government to get funding for their none sense "scentific" researches. Now either you capitalize on the opportunity by selling carbon credit, or get fucked from environment taxes defending oil companies.
They base their decisions and statements on which model would provide them the maximum bottom line possible, they have a fiduciary duty to their stakeholders by law. Fink himself said on CNBC recentlly along the lines that they don't actually care, you tell them what you want to invest in and they'll put your money in the corresponding funds, they take a cut managing the funds and let's call it a day.
