>>17517200Also this. Fuck modern competitive games with matchmaking cancer.
These games are designed to make you have a mere grasp of winning in order to usually force you to pay to buy some new "champion" or whatever cancerous names they call them, champion seems to be the go-to term for lots of these garbage games.
Equally society trending towards asocial existence with the improving internet resulted in most people UNdeveloping their social skills.
They regressed. They became too awkward.
The ones that never still go to hackathons and boardgame cafes, or are a certain mental illness we shall not go in to.
There was an interesting middleground where the potential for external GPUs to become the norm and laptops replacing desktops could have happened.
But mobile GPUs happened and that sort of died off.
It is somewhat coming back again though, there's various companies trying to bring the external GPU back in to the markets as a proper product so they can gimp on mobile GPUs and sell enclosures for GPUs.
I'm actually somewhat on board with this. Have a decent enough GPU for portable use, come hope, slap a dock in, suddenly you now have multiple monitors, an external GPU, external keyboard and mouse.
Same goes with smartphones / tablets. It is entirely possible right now and you can do it with some of them, there's just not much software support or standards behind it.
Given some people never go beyond a smartphone, the industry wants to expand that area. Making good docks that would get these people to buy them and new monitors would be a godsend for profits so it likely will happen again. Samsung were the closest to it with Samsung DeX.
