basically one of our classes has a kanji test every week, but for whatever reason we got to choose on an individual basis whether our test covers 40 or 80 kanji. including myself only 2 of 6 people chose to go with 80 and the other backtracked their decision tot 40 before we even had the first test
then on test day the professor asked me if i was tired from studying 80 since people often complain about grinding kanji, and i foolishly said that tests get me kind of fired up so it wasn't that bad, which she found very funny
the true issues came when i got a 98% on the test, then was asked to record feedback so that i could track my progress and wrote that i was annoyed i didn't get 100% because of careless mistakes. of course that's true, but i'm not sure i would've written it if i knew that despite having double the work load i ended up getting the highest grade in the class
of course this all also contrasts with the fact that i was still struggling immensely will speaking skills at this point
so nothing too bad in isolation, but piece by piece i really did craft an image that i'm not even enthusiastic about the material, but obsessed with test taking itself

i mean not too engage in stereotype but this is kpop general. naturally coming to asia i'm going to find everyone way cuter on average than in the US
