>>17545264im not sure how its called exactly but bio therapy is a form of physical awareness training ig is how i would put it. for me, it made me more capable of anticipating and preventing panic attacks. it also helped me learn how to relax, so that stress wouldn't make me sick so often. its a type of grounding technique that keeps you from being too in your head.
for preventing panic attacks, i would monitor things like my breathing, my heart beat, my muscle tensions. make sure i wasn't hyperventilating (takes practice lol), manually slowing my heat rate (i knew how to do this before therapy, from my meditation practice), and making sure to release muscle tension (like unclenching my jaw)
as for the stress relief part, it was more full body mucsle stuff. taking a moment to lay down n breath n stuff. flex and unflex my muscles from head to toe for full body awareness and relief. like i would flex my face muscles, hold, release, hold. going all the way down to flexing my toes, hold, release, hold. really only takes a few minutes, longer if you wanted, but its an awesome grounding technique as well as a relaxing one.
i think a less pretentious person would just call stuff like this meditation!
