I'm really lucky, find it super easy to make friends in any situation. I think what actually happens is when you spend your entire life being told you're functionally different to people you overcompensate and start to realize that everyone's sense of "normal" is based on their own upbringing.
So ironically you go from the one person who has the narrowest view of the social world to the broadest because you start to assume "every individual sees the world differently" rather than a large amorphous "me vs. the other"
Does any of that make sense?
