There is a lab in China that researches viruses. Ten years ago they drew international concern for creating a virus that can jump between species. Three years earlier, they drew attention because one of their samples got out of the lab accidentally.
Fast forward to 2019. Same region suddenly has a new virus that transferred from one species to another and ran rampant all over the world. The US President makes an announcement that the virus first appeared near the lab that a) had previous created a similar virus and b) had samples that leaked to the public before.
Well, the liberals lost their shit and said there was no way, zero chance, that this happened with this virus ... because they didn't like the current president.
