>>17559583Yeah, it was pretty awesome. The Abyss itself is a really interesting place on it's own. It's not as gorey as many say (except for one moment in the movie), it's more that it explores really darks concepts (with orphans usually facing the conseqences).

>Reg likes Riko for no reasonThe reason Reg headed for the surface in the first place is cause he needs to find his "most precious thing", even leave Faputa for it. It's likely that he's been tasked with bringing Rico down by Lyza - He knew her, talked with her, "buried her" and carried her relic for a time. Also he's been named Reg even before Rico named himand he had amnesia.
>Riko wants to go to the bottom because of magicAbyss is basically a flytrap, taking souls of those who died there. Rico is half-dead (and died in the abyss), her souls is attracted to the bottom of the abyss, coercing her to go down. Also, her mother is down there, supposedly.
>99% of the enemies are animals so you don't expect them to think rationallyTrue tho I found the ecosystem interesting and I'd say the main enemy is the nature of the abyss. Additionaly, the most formidable enemies were humans.
>Almost every action the kids take have no ramifications to their journey further onScars, amputation, dead friend, gaining 2 new team members, etc.
>None of the human antagonists are doing what they're doing because of the actions of the protagonistsI don't get this. Mostly, in shows, it's the heros reacting to the actions of the villains. Still, Wazukyan was manipulating the protags the moment he met them, trying to get Rico hurt so that Reg finds and uses a Cradle of desire on her.
