For example here with the “housing aid” financed partly by hiking property taxes that resulted in higher rent and it’d be better to leave it to the market since the offset made by the government made no sense not to mention deficit resulted from the overhead caused by government (extremely inefficient) operations that definitely doesn’t benefit the renter.
Also rent control is retarded, the whole housing crisis is because of some archaic rent control laws dated back from the Great Depression that resulted in lack of new supply since no one would like to invest in building affordable housing in large metropolis given that there’s no incentive in doing so, they’d rather buy up existing houses / condos which resulted to housing becoming extremely expensive due to scarcity and at the end backfires at the poor who will never be able to afford to buy.
