Here's my take..
There's really no reason to have kids other than to avoid genetic death.
Genetic death isn't really bad, what's the point of passing on your genes when your kid isn't actually you? When the cards are down, you guys do realize your consciousness won't continue on through your kids right?
Also consider the fact that when you're dead you won't know you're dead, all we have as subjective minds is this block of conscious experience...
