The funny thing is even Russians bought into their own propaganda. They drank their own koolaid. They really seriously genuinely unironically thought they were an all-menacing superpower, that this would be dealt with quickly, "only have to kick in the door."
How will they ever recover? 80 years of propaganda down the drain.
