Perhaps the greater the imagination the greater the level of difficulty(of life), since the principle of sun tsu's warfare is to force the enemy to see as many scenarios as possible, to not focus on a certain point, scattering forces in many directions. God is quite clear in his intentions here, forcing us to build metaphorical atlantic wall, and in the end, fail spectacularly(or at the very least, that's the idea). Without imagination there are few paths, everything is easy. The more paths one can take the harder it is to choose the right one. Of course some would say that those with few choices can be in situation with no right paths at all. Even so, difficulty remains unchanged still.
