>>17648691It is not chemically addictive is what it means. Anything can be habitually addictive, however.
This distinction causes many misunderstandings, and the focus on chemical addiction is a major culprit.
And what do you mean by "how is it not addictive" exactly? Serotonergic drugs are simply not chemically addictive because the brain does not adapt to their use like it does with other substances. Continuing based on the serotonergic nature of psychedelics, are you trying to ask something about the function of serotonin in the brain? In that case, Serotonin Syndrome might of interest for you to look up and learn about. Briefly: Serotonin Syndrome is when there is an excess of serotonin in the brain (usually due to a mixture or overdosing of serotonergic drugs, such as SSRIs) which causes the brain to fail to properly regulate its serotonin activity.
When it comes to things just as videogames, they are notably habitually addictive because of the extent that they replicate real world desires/pathways in our minds to allow us to enjoy them. That being said, to consider them "addictive" in the same way as an opiate (such as heroin for example) would be very stupid because of the difference in how these things work neurologically and pharmacologically (which is to say, one of them literally doesn't implant chemicals into your brain/body like the other lol).
