>>17695989I was a Russian liberal and I can tell you that the root cause of this is hatred of those around you, you start blaming them for your misfortunes, you feel unclaimed, you think you are better and higher and smarter, you start focusing only on the negative aspects of your society. To feed off this crap, you start watching Navalny, Varlamov, Yuri Dudh and other stupid shit to convince yourself once again that yes, yes, yes, I'm right. I'm so smart. And this is a mistake. You fall into a trap and become a very useful tool for those who want to destroy the society you hate, and you too. But the real shocker for young Russian liberals is the fact that the same people with the same attributes that you hate live in Western society. And you try to somehow deal with this, somehow justify it by inventing their virtues and so on and so forth. I still come to the conclusion that "Russian liberalism" is a depressive disorder activated by Russia's uneducated, stupidity, and high-contrast history. "Russian liberalism" has nothing to do with liberal ideology, it is simply masochistic Russophobia.
What drives media "liberals" and "opinion leaders" I don't know, probably just the money and the nice life they give them. Or maybe even a sense of self-importance.
