Well i'm starting to realise where Ergo Proxy and Evangelion took some of ideas. These too are like separation of this story, non exactly literal dome where society lives in total separation(which is the opposite of human instrumentality project) to avert the usual need for blaming others. In that sense, also present idea of 'immortality by death' fits quite nicely since that's the greatest separation of all, the final point to which that system might just be leading to, even if initially it was meant to be the ultimate ethics enforcement.
