I’ve practically been withdrawn from society for most, if not all of my adult life, so I don’t know a whole lot of things people my age (25) should know. I’m too ashamed and afraid to tell this to anyone irl because i’ll be mocked and not taken seriously.

the sick thing is, if you ever want to start participating in that life, it just means overcoming a learning curve. that's the whole deal with knowledge, is that it only comes after the initial learning curve, so that should be your main focus, then worry about the intricacies of adult life. it's reasonable to believe you could be mocked for not knowing these things, but again, it's like getting called a noob in a video game you aren't used to. just gotta shrug it off because there's more fun to be had enjoying the game than worrying about other peoples' opinions

My mom raised me and she has pretty much been the only person i’ve been around until recently. She has always been super critical of other people, including me, so I have an aversion to asking people for help, especially from family members. It’s really hard.
