there was one point where one guy was playing guitar, missed a note, and then when someone made fun of him he started yelling about how if he's so bad at guitar then instead of making fun of him the guy should distract everyone with a better performance like dancing, then through him into a corner and started playing worse on purpose

i also noticed that initially i was really hesitant too use language that was too friendly because i'd heard from many people, including japanese people, that many can find it really uncomfortable feeling like they're being thrust into someone's inner circle too quickly, but i've found that people seem to be incredibly receptive to it and i think it's largely by the same token that i'm usually older
i've stolen a line roughly equivalent to "i'm a kind senpai" from someone wholesale and it really seems to do wonders for personal relationships
