There were likely many native Americans saved who were born before 1492 and never encountered or had heard of Christians or Jews.
In spite of this, all people innately have God's law written on their hearts. We know that adultery, theft, murder, lies, and failure to care for the needy is wrong. At the very least, we all hate to be stolen from, cheated on, injured, or lied about.
Even so, the native societies had those who actively committed those crimes against their fellow man, even to the point of mass human sacrifice.
I expect those who stood up against such truly evil people were saved, and, if prrsented with Christ, would likewise be those most likely to immediately accept Him as the fulfillment of all natural law.
But there are far more saved when the Word is actively preached and distributed. It clarifies that which we already know from birth: There are a set of actions that one should never do, these are sins, you have an eternal spirit in the image of the Creator of the universe, and you are, of your own will, not strong enough to live up to even your own personal standards, and are thus in need of something greater than yourself, indeed as great as that same Creator, to save you.
Also, keep in mind that eternal heaven is not what is taught in the New Testament, rather, we expect a new, physical place where all of those saved will live and work in perfection, each hour better than the last.
