Discord servers get shittier the more users there are. If it's <100 users you can still get to know some people, it's not over spammed and you still feel like you're a part of something. Once it gets into thousands it's like Twitter, but small, you don't really get to know anyone because things are moving too fast. Then it gets too large and goes back into a few active users while 99% join, are active for few days and then never post again while only the #general channel is active and all the other channels are either completely dead, or have a group of 5 users who post there and basically made it their own chat.

TL:DR Discord is ass unless the server is very small and still feels personal.
