It was one of the many fakes.
EFG wore that mask like a couple times in the MANY different comics well before 2007.
Most of the time he never had any mask on.
He wore the mask around the time the film came out.
Only reason was because at the time, everyone was making memes out of the legion stuff, and the quote in the film of him going on about stuff with all the words beginning with "b", so someone made a post with all the words beginning with "/b/" instead.
EFG, unlike a popular fake meme, did not always use 400x400. He's had image dimensions in the 2000s several times before.
