>>17894452>>17894453>>17894454last time i went to athens center (never again) a few months ago i witnessed maddening horrors that cannot be described by words
derelict and crumbling buildings, a ubiquitous stench of feces and vehicle emissions, homeless fucks panhandlings and yelling at the tops of their lungs on the streets while the city police was standing nearby idly, people with full body lesions and disfigurements walking around aimlessly
the city's planning and architecture was so bad, it almost felt like a deliberate attempt to mock civilization, with roads, pavements, buildings, stores and streets intermingling as if AI generated; just being there was draining my sanity
and most horrifying of all: this was all in view of the acropolis
was it the beauty of the acropolis sullied by these modern horrors? or was it the ugliness of modern athens felt stronger when juxtaposed with what once was?
it felt like a sick joke, as if the derelict, thousand-year old ruins were looking down upon us
but i will speak of it no longer, since as i mentioned at the beginning words cannot describe it
