For what it's worth, a sibling of mine has taught at several universities and knows a number of world famous writers and editors. One of my parents has been friends with a the former governor of a western state since the time I was born. I know a high ranking executive at one of the big motion picture studios, and a professor at one of the UC schools, and I have other contacts there.
