It's literally a bunch of kikes (actual kikes not metaphorical) trying to achieve ultimate unification of man kind which fufills their kabbalah beliefs about the monad or something hence all the religious imagery. I actually understand it to the fullest but it would sound too schizo and would take too long to ever type out.

But the meaning of Evangelion isn’t that hard to find. I figured it out very quickly after finishing it for the first time.
