The easiest litmus test regarding whether someone is Sephardic or Mizrahi is whether he or his family speaks Ladino (Judaeo-Spanish).
If your grandfather's native language is Ladino you are Sephardic.
If your grandfather's native language is Arab*c you are not Sephardi and I don't care that you pray like the Sephardi you are not Sephardi.
