If you want a real answer... Yesterday the head of Wagner claimed that his troops were bombed heavily by Russia's own airforce after he made a video critical of the Russian minister of defense, Shoigu. In response he said he would go on a "march of freedom" towards Moscow in order to depose him. Note how this wasn't directed at Putin inititally. During the night they took the city of Rostov-on-the-Don, the main logistical hub for the Russian army in Ukraine, seemingly without a fight. In the morning Putin broadcasted a speech denouncing them and said they would be dealt with as terrorists. This is when Wagner changed their goal to be directed at the entire Russian command, including Putin.
So far today they seem to be making decent progress. There is fighting going on in Voronezh which is about halfway to the Kremlin. At this rate they should be there by the end of today, which isn't as surprising as it sounds given that the vast majority of Russia's professional forces are currently engaged in Ukraine. Mostly they are up against the airforce and whatever Moscow can scramble together in time. The border guards and internal security forces don't stand much of a chance against an actual threat and have been surrenduring or standing aside.
So yeah. Obviously it's going to get harder for them the closer they get to the city but it could really go either way depending on how many choose to defect or stand down. Interestingly Progizhin has made it clear that he will not disrupt the logistic supply flowing to the RuAF in Ukraine, so it's unclear exactly what his plans are for Russia if he succeeds. Still fun to watch though.
